What is the Leaders on Board program?

Leaders On Board is making a significant impact in our communities. Throughout the region, there are hundreds of nonprofits seeking to enhance the quality of life in their communities and improve the lives of their neighbors and constituents. Their work takes tremendous dedication and effort — that’s where Leaders On Board makes a difference. By helping nonprofits find new members who bring their diverse perspectives, skills, and experiences, Leaders On Board is inspiring positive change.

What can Leaders on Board attendees expect?

Everyday hundreds of people are looking for ways to apply their values, interests, and skills in ways that serve the greater good. Leaders On Board train its participants in board governance and nonprofit organizational structure and prepares them as candidates for board membership. Express Match events connect them to a network of interesting, innovative nonprofits seeking board members. Leaders On Board has a proven track record – helping to place over 1000 individuals on the boards of more than 160 nonprofit organizations!

 

Who can apply?

Individual board-seekers

LGH Leaders On Board trains individuals interested in expanding their leadership skills and deepening their connection to the community by providing training in board governance and nonprofit organizational structure. Following the training, these individuals are connected to various nonprofit organizations seeking to expand their boards. Over the past decade, more than 1000 individuals have been placed on local area nonprofit boards through this training and matching process.

Individuals need to complete the Leaders on Board application. There is no fee associated with individual participation.

Nonprofits

Nonprofit boards need diverse and thoughtful leaders to manage them. By participating in Leaders On Board, nonprofits can ensure they have access to trained, dynamic board candidates. Nonprofits must complete the Leaders on Board application. Based on the
