In this session, we’ll dive into the final chapters of High Road Leadership by John C. Maxwell and explore the leadership “advantage” and how High Road leaders truly desire the best for those that they serve. Learn strategies for fostering a leadership culture that not only upholds ethical values but also inspires continuous growth and positive change.

This spring’s annual Lessons in Leadership series introduces John C. Maxwell and his book High Road Leadership: Bringing People Together In A World That Divides. Leading in turbulent times requires intentional efforts to build trust and foster inclusion. John C. Maxwell’s book, focuses on leadership principles that promote unity, collaboration, and ethical behavior. Maxwell emphasizes the need for leaders to take the “high road” in their decisions, actions, and communication.

Exciting news for LGH alumni! For the first time, Lessons in Leadership is free for all LGH graduates. This reflects our shift away from annual memberships and our commitment to offering ongoing leadership learning and community-building opportunities. Lifetime LGH members and MMC members (The Millennial Manager Collective powered by Reloveution) also participated at no cost. Community members are welcome for $20 per session.

 
About the Facilitator

Nuchette Black-Burke

Nuchette is a lifelong Windsor resident, proud graduate of its public schools, and a dedicated wife and mother of two. Elected to the Windsor Board of Education in 2015, she chaired the curriculum and technology committees and serves on the Capital Region Education Council (CREC). Now the proud Mayor of Windsor, she is also a credentialed minister at Rehoboth Church of God in Bloomfield, CT, where she leads youth and discipleship programs and coordinates the Angel Tree Project for children of incarcerated families. Committed to community service, she is a member of the Project Resiliency advisory board, the Hartford Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and the National Association for Family, School, and Community Engagement. Nuchette holds a degree from Western Connecticut State University and a master’s in education from the University of Hartford.
