Summer Nexus Session 1 runs from July 16-22 and Session 2 runs from August 6-12.
The program begins at 3:00 p.m. on the first day of each session with an orientation and overnight retreat designed to build relationships and allow participants to step out of their comfort zone. Students will meet from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on each of the following days of the session. The program consists of a morning workshop, lunch with a community leader, afternoon leadership activity, and planning a community service project. Participants will engage in workshops that enhance skills in: public speaking, diversity awareness, conflict resolution, decision making, personal finance, and college preparation. On the last day of each session, students will implement the community service project and then attend a graduation picnic with invited family and friends.
