Hartford Encounters

Giving people a first-hand look at the attributes and attractions that make this region so vital generates enthusiasm and appreciation and motivates them to get engaged. Hartford Encounters are customized guided tours that can show your team or department how to get the most out of the region — and to see ways to put more back in! Newcomers as well as lifelong residents can discover treasures they never knew were here.

  • “By participating in the Hartford Encounter tours, Cigna employees have been able to connect with the community and see the impact that Cigna leaders are having to improve the neighborhoods around us. Being a part of the community is good business, for so many reasons.”

    David Figliuzzi
David Figliuzzi Chief Diversity Officer, Cigna

The guided bus and walking tours can be designed as either half-day or full-day outings, and always include stops at eateries that reflect the city’s cultural diversity. These aren’t sight-seeing tours: your participants will meet face-to-face with influential figures from business, civic organizations, and local government.

  • "Leadership Greater Hartford partnered with me to develop programming for our faculty, staff and students that made our transition to downtown Hartford even more exciting than we could imagine.  We learned about the assets in our new neighborhood and throughout Hartford.  Most importantly, we built relationships with key stakeholders who have become trusted advisors and champions for our campus and our students."
