Thirty five students from seven area high schools completed 13 weeks of intense leadership training and development in Class 52 of the Common Ground program. Students participated in workshops covering; teambuilding, community service awareness, public speaking, diversity & social justice, personal finance, decision making, social media responsibility, college prep and much more. They also attended a weekend camping experience at Camp Jewel, a cultural celebration, school exchange and a career forum. Class 52 partnered with Citizen’s for Quality Sickle Cell Care to get toy donations and help host a holiday party. While it was a snowy day, fun was had by all and the total for the service learning project is $5,269.96 for both toy and monetary donations. Congratulations Class 52!
